Lido Shores home sells for $2 million

The top real-estate transaction for the week of Aug. 30 to Sept. 3 occurred in the Lido Shores subdivision.

Steven and Sonja Wieder, of Sarasota, sold their home at 1475 John Ringling Parkway in the Lido Shores subdivision to Robert and Roberta Barrett, of Orlando, for $2 million. The home, built in 2000, has four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a pool and 3,937 square feet of living area. The property last sold for $200,000 in February 1998.

The transaction is the top sale from Longboat, Lido, St. Armands and Bird keys. All transactions were recorded at the Sarasota and Manatee county courthouses. Of the 11 real-estate transactions this week, two occurred on Lido Key, and nine were recorded on Longboat Key.

Islander Club
Dale Strohl, of 4965 Gulf of Mexico Drive, sold Apartment 113-S at The Islander Club, 2295 Gulf of Mexico Drive, to Louis Gutierrez, 4965 Gulf of Mexico Drive, for $606,000. The unit has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and 1,235 square feet of living area. The unit last sold for $505,000 in August 2001.

The Westchester
Bruce Fisher, individually and as trustee of the Bruce D. Fisher Trust, of Knoxville, Tenn., sold Unit 206 at The Westchester condominium, 4835 Gulf of Mexico Drive, to Joel and Helen Abelson, of Ontario, Canada, for $585,000. The unit has two bedrooms, one bathroom and 1,393 square feet of living area. The unit last sold for $825,000 in May 2005.

Whitney Beach
Ronald and Christine Bamber, of Nantucket, Mass., sold Unit 330 at Whitney Beach III, 6701 Gulf of Mexico Drive, to Evan and Suzanne Moss, of Tampa, for $515,000. The unit has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and 1,456 square feet of living area. The unit last sold for $325,000 in October 1996.

Corey’s Landing
Frances Carroll, trustee of the Alice G. Davis Qualified Personal Residence Trust, of Naples, sold the home at 3447 Byron Lane to Jay and Sally Steele, of Doylestown, Pa., for $440,000. The home has three bedrooms, two-and-a-half bathrooms and 2,227 square feet of living area. The home last sold for $278,857 in May 1989.

Buttonwood Cove
Stephen and Susan Smith, of Overland Park, Kan., sold Unit 205 at Buttonwood Cove, 3660 Gulf of Mexico Drive, to Robert and Mary Lee, of Easton, Md., for $377,500. The unit has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and 1,486 square feet of living area. The unit last sold for $420,000 in January 2009.

Bay Isles
Janice Stone, of Short Hills, N.J., sold the vacant lot at 3365 Bayou Gate, in the Longboat Key Club Bay Isles subdivision, to Kathleen Sweeney, of West Springfield, Mass., for $325,000. The lot last sold for $125,000 in August
1994.

Seaplace
Mary Sumpter, of Dayton, Ohio, sold Unit 109B in Building G-2 at Seaplace, 2055 Gulf of Mexico Drive, to Mark Bradt, of Sarasota, for $319,000. The unit has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and 1,492 square feet of living
area.

Casa del Mar
Paul Rothert, of Dearborn, Mich., sold a half-interest of Unit 16B at Casa del Mar, 4621 Gulf of Mexico Drive, to both John and Christine Baldwin and Paul and Helena Burka, all of Ontario, Canada. The total sale price was $260,000. The unit has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and 900 square feet of living area. The unit last sold for $181,000 in March 2006.

Longboat Beachcomber
B.A.D. Investments LLC, a Florida limited-liability company with a Dayton, Ohio, address, sold Unit 201 at Longboat Beachcomber, 2721 Gulf of Mexico Drive, to ChemStation International Inc., which also has a Dayton address, for $243,100. The unit has one bedroom, one bathroom and 675 square feet of living area. The unit last sold for $127,500 in October 2004.

Lido Key
William and Ann Green sold Unit PH A at Key Towers South, 1750 Ben Franklin Drive, to Jill Schachter, of Chappaqua, N.Y., for $535,000. The unit has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and 1,403 square feet of living area. The unit last sold for $165,000 in May 1990.
