First Presbyterian preschooler Kate Campion thinks the eight pale-blue eggs nestled into the mulch beneath the playground equipment will hatch on Easter.

The first three eggs were discovered March 30 after teachers and students noticed two mallard ducks on the playground.

The 4- and 5-year-olds in Chris Ganten’s class have started documenting the eggs’ progress on daily basis with a photo album called “Our Own Mallard Duck Story.”

When asked today about his knowledge of the eggs, Devin Gulliver replied with a serious tone: “You need to leave them alone.”
