+ Key resident catches spectacular sunset
Beach Harbor Club resident June Beigbeder, holding the Longboat Observer, recently crossed two items off of her bucket list: She took a hot-air balloon ride in North Port. Then, March 7, she celebrated with family members and neighbors at the condominium clubhouse before gathering eight of her friends on three helicopters for a sunset ride over Longboat Key.

Beigbeder was wowed by a helicopter ride over Maui she took 24 years ago. This time, she got a bird’s-eye view of the island where she has lived for the past nine years.

“Longboat is beautiful with the color of the water,” she said.

When the pilot flew the helicopter low, Beigbeder and her friends could pick out local restaurants and see dolphin coves.

But one site hit close to home: Beigbeder’s Beach Harbor Club neighbors had gathered on a condo rooftop and stood waving to her as she savored the special sunset.
