What was it like for you to be able to compete in the state tournament?

It was pretty cool. It was a real honor.

Were you pleased with the way you performed?
Yes. I was shooting to finish in the top 10 this year.

Was the state tournament harder than you expected?
Yes. I didn’t think people were going to be that strong.

Do you prefer the bench press or the clean and jerk?
Clean and jerk is my favorite. Not a lot of people have form, and I have the form. So it’s what I can beat people at.

Which is your favorite sport: football or weightlifting?
Football. I get to hit people.

Do you have any siblings?
I have two sisters: Erika, 18 and Carson, 2.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
Hawaii. It’s just so beautiful, and I think it would be a nice place to go to.

Do you have a favorite sports team?

The Tampa Bay Bucs. I just grew up watching them.

Who is your biggest role model?
My dad. He’s just a hard worker, and he provides for the family.

What’s your favorite subject?
History. I just like all of the war stuff.

What’s your favorite food?
Mashed potatoes

Did you have a favorite TV show growing up?

“Power Rangers.”
