The home at 825 Longboat Club Road closed yesterday for a Longboat Key record of $12.5 million. The sale price represented the third-largest sale in Sarasota County history.

Reid Murphy, of Developers Realty Inc., listed the property, and Louis Wery, of Coldwell Banker’s Longboat Key office, represented the buyer, who is from Europe, according to a prepared statement.

The home is one of eight mansions that overlook the Gulf of Mexico in Regents Court, aka “Millionaires Row,” which is located behind the Islandside gates of the Longboat Key Club and Resort.

The 1.3-acre property, which has 150 feet of Gulf beachfront, sold for $2.05 million preconstruction in 1994 to Siegfried and Eva Schulte. The 11,961-square-foot home was built in 2002 with five bedrooms, six bathrooms an infinity pool and spa that overlook the Gulf, and other luxury features such as mahogany, glass double doors that open to a custom grand staircase; chef’s kitchen and adjoining catering kitchen and pantry; and split floor plan that separates the master living quarters from the four guest suites.

Murphy listed the property for $17.5 million in September 2010.
