The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

CHRISTIAN RETREAT
July 29
 12:01 a.m. — 900 block of Faith Circle
. Identity theft. The victim reported an unknown person(s) used her identity without her permission. She stated the person(s) used her personal and account information to make a purchase without her permission. She stated she only uses her debit card in Manatee County, and she is still in possession of her card.

LAKEWOOD RANCH
July 31
 9:52 p.m. — 8900 block of Manor Loop.
Information only. The complainant reported the male suspect has been giving her looks for the past several days. The suspect has not said or done anything criminal in nature to the complainant, but she wanted a report made about this incident. She was given a case card with the case number.

MYAKKA CITY
July 29
 Noon — 7900 block of Verna Bethany Road. 
Armed residential burglary. Two unknown male suspects kicked in the front door of the victim’s residence. Once inside, the suspects stole a Remington .22 caliber long gun, among other property. The suspects were seen getting into a gold 90s model Ford Crown Victoria. The suspects then fled southbound on Verna Bethany Road toward State Road 70 E. Fingerprints were obtained from the scene.

Reported July 29
 5 p.m. — 10400 block of Myakka Boulevard.
Burglary to a vehicle. An unknown person entered the victim’s unlocked vehicles. The person then accessed the hood of both vehicles and removed both batteries without the victim’s authorization. There was no evidence left at the scene or witnesses located. A case number was assigned to the incident, and the victim was given a case card.

July 30
 5:14 p.m. — 40100 block of State Road 70 E. 
Telephone harassment. The complainant reported she received three phone calls from a customer at a local grocery store in Myakka. It was later determined she doesn’t know him. He arrived at the store in a taxi and used its phone to call her cell phone. She later received more calls on her cell phone that came in as private and also from a number that was on her caller ID from the same unknown caller. She said the male caller sounded crazy and never mentioned her name or otherwise appeared he knew her. One of the messages said, “Bang, you’re dead.” The reporting deputy called the number on her ID, and it went straight to a message, stating there was no voicemail set up.

RIVER CLUB
July 29
 1:05 a.m. — 11200 block of Marigold Drive.
Criminal mischief. The complainant reported an unknown white male egged her residence. She stated she has video of the incident from her ADT system. She stated it was the same male with which she had a conflict on the previous night. In that incident, the suspect and another male swore at her and called her names based on her heritage. They dropped their pants and showed her their backsides. She stated she is in fear for her safety. The responding deputy took a series of 11 photos and a DVD the complainant burned of the male throwing something at her house.

SARASOTA
July 30
 11:38 a.m. — 8300 block of Cypress Lake Circle. 
Burglary to an unoccupied dwelling. The white male suspect was seen running from the residence after an audible alarm went off from within. The area was checked without success. The rear screen door had been cut to gain entry. The main house wasn’t entered, and nothing was taken from the porch. A case card was issued.

OTHER
July 30
 5:30 p.m. — 6410 State Road 64 E. Felony petit theft. 
The suspect entered the convenience store and went behind the cashier’s counter. While behind the counter, the suspect took $40 cash out of a bank bag next to the register while the cashier was distracted. The suspect took $20 out of the $40 and paid for gas. He later returned and did the same thing again but was caught by the cashier. The cashier confronted the suspect. He denied taking the money and fled the scene, but he was caught on video. The suspect was located at his residence and arrested. He stated he spontaneously took the money because of to his addiction to Roxicodone.
