3:12 p.m. — Coquina Beach. Traffic Violation. Police stopped a man whose driver’s license was suspended for failure to pay child support. Police gave the man a citation and court date.
Rocking the boat
4:46 p.m. — 5600 block of Gulf of Mexico Drive. Civil Disturbance. A resort employee told police that a woman refused to pay a $394.05 credit card charge for a two days’ worth of kayak usage. The woman told police that some members of her party were unable to go kayaking the first day, and that on the second day, she assumed she was still allowed to use them and did so for 10 to 20 minutes. Police told both parties that the issue was a civil matter.
This isn’t a meat market
6:11 p.m. — 600 block of Spanish Drive N. Soliciting. Police advised two men, who were going door-to-door selling meat, of the town’s ordinance on soliciting. The men told police that they were unaware of the ordinance and left the area.

Paws for complaint?
3:22 p.m. — 100 block of North Shore Road. Illegal Activity. After receiving an anonymous complaint, police issued a written warning to a woman walking a small brown-and-white dog on the beach.
No cause for suspicion
9:40 p.m. — 600 block of Weston Pointe Court. Suspicious Vehicle. A man reported a truck parked in the driveway of his out-of-town neighbors’ house. The truck’s owner told police that the homeowners know him by his middle name, which he usually goes by, and that he drives his vehicle to the residence to use the owner’s boat. The homeowners had no problem with the man’s presence.

What’s the rush?
3:41 a.m. — New Pass Bridge. Reckless Driving. Police attempted to pull over the driver of a dark-colored pickup truck that was traveling at 86 mph down Gulf of Mexico Drive. Longboat Key police notified Sarasota police while they continued following the driver over New Pass Bridge. The vehicle was last seen traveling eastbound over the Ringling Bridge.
