East County players finding success on All-Star team

Eighth-graders Brandon Luckett and Kyle Thoma were both named to the Central Florida FBU All-Star team this season.

The team defeated the Georgia eighth-grader all-stars 14-12 over Thanksgiving weekend. Thoma’s two points secured the win. This past weekend, the Central Florida all-stars defeated the Southwest Florida all-stars 13-6. Luckett had a 40-yard touchdown reception and an interception on Southwest Florida’s final drive to secure the victory for Central Florida. Thoma added an extra point.

The team returned to action against the Charlotte all-stars Dec. 17 at Thomas Jefferson High in Tampa for the right to play in the national championship, which will be held in San Antonio.
