If this blue-eyed, pony-tailed man looks familiar, it’s probably because you’ve seen him zipping around town on his mean green biking machine. Either that, or he’s hand-delivered a Jimmy John’s sub right to your office desk, humble abode or wherever it is you may be when your tummy starts to rumble.

How many miles do you ride on an average day?
“On a full day, usually 15 to 25 miles. We deliver to the hospital about five times a day and to Camp Bow Wow on 17th Street.”

What’s the biggest order you’ve delivered?
“There are days we’ve taken $1,000 orders to the Buchanan Enterprise building. That’s about 75 to 90 subs.”

Have you delivered to any places you’d consider odd?
“We go to the Toale Brothers Funeral Home every day. The oddest place is probably the jail or people living in warehouses. Even the people two stories up in this building call for delivery.”

What would you consider the best delivery spot?
“Marina Jack. People order from their boats, so we bike out onto the dock.”

How do you cool off in the summer after making deliveries?
“We hide in the freezer.”

Do you own your bike?
“That’s my green bike outside. Jimmy John’s supplies the bikes, but give us a month, and we’ll destroy them.”

Are those headphones hanging out of your pocket?
“Yeah, I listen to movie soundtracks, trance music, European metal and Pandora comedians.”

What do you love about getting paid to bike?
“Being able to ride downtown and be in the sun, meeting people and getting to exercise. I pretty much know everyone in the city. Even down in Miami, two guys recognized me and asked if I worked at Jimmy John’s.”
