Lakewood tennis teams victorious in opening matches

The Lakewood Ranch High girls and boys tennis teams both opened their seasons with victories Feb. 8 and 9.

The Lady Mustangs defeated Southeast 6-1 Feb. 8. On Feb. 9, Lakewood fell to Port Charlotte 5-2. Sammi Aiezza (No. 1) and Kaizzle Tatulla (No. 4) both earned victories for the Lady Mustangs.

On Feb. 9, the Lakewood boys opened their season with a 6-1 victory over Port Charlotte. Arsav Mohanty (No. 1), Drew Christianson (No. 2), Leo Murri (No. 3) and Frank Pistella (No. 4) all earned victories for Lakewood. The Mustangs lone loss came in the No. 5 match as a forfeit.
