Mirabella powers Lady Pirates in shutout

Braden River High sophomore pitcher Courtney Mirabella allowed one hit while striking out 16, propelling the Lady Pirates to a 1-0 victory over Venice Feb. 16.

Mirabella also went 1-for-2 at the plate with a walk and scored Braden River’s lone run. Sophomore Jessica Cadorette went 1-for-3 with a triple and a RBI and senior Melissa Malanczuk went 1-for-1 with a walk to lead the way for the Lady Pirates at the plate. Braden River (3-1) returns to action at 7 p.m., Friday night at Seminole Osceola.
