Lady Mustangs rout Lady Rebels

The Lakewood Ranch High softball team improved to 2-0 in the district with a 27-0 rout of Dixie Hollins Feb. 18.

Huntyre Elling, Carlie Mazurek, Sasha Wirth and Brittany Kilduff combined for the no-hitter, striking out 10.

Taylor Newton went 3-for-5 with a triple, four RBIs and five runs scored and Jenn Trotter went 1-for-5 with a double, four RBIs and five runs scored to lead the way for Lakewood (4-0) at the plate.

Sarah Burnett went 4-for-5 with two doubles, three RBIs and three runs scored and Dana Hutchins went 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, three RBIs and three runs scored.
