Maggie Buterbaugh was the happy winner of the 3.56-carat Tanzanite jewel, the prize of the Kiwanis Foundation Valentine’s Ball raffle. As she said, “I finally got it.”

Buterbaugh and her husband, Noel, had recently been on trip to the Caribbean, where she spotted a Tanzanite jewel she coveted. But when she looked around for her husband, who had the checkbook, he had disappeared in the crowd. So, she went home disappointed until the night of the ball — where she won the jewel in the grand prize raffle.
