KEY REAL ESTATE: Tangerine Bay Club unit sells for $1.26 million

A.G. Lafley, of Sarasota, sold Unit 131 in Phase I at the 90-unit Tangerine Bay Club, 340 Gulf of Mexico Drive, to Michael and Elaine Hargarten, of Fairfax Station, Va., for $1.26 million. Built in 1991, the 2,513-square-foot unit has three bedrooms and four bathrooms. It last sold for $1,175,000 in March 2005.
The sale was the largest of six transactions recorded at the Sarasota and Manatee county courthouses during the week of Dec. 20 through Dec. 24 on Longboat, Lido, St. Armands and Bird keys. All of the week’s sales took place on Longboat Key, with three in Manatee County and the remaining three in Sarasota County. Two of the week’s sales exceeded $1 million.

Beaches of Longboat Key
Cathy Wallach, of New York City, sold Unit 503 in Phase 1 of the 74-unit Beaches of Longboat Key-South, 775 Longboat Club Road, to Allen Schwartz, of Scarsdale, N.Y., for $1.1 million. Built in 1984, the 2,122-square-foot unit has three bedrooms and three bathrooms. It last sold for $762,500 in June 1999.

Castillian
James and Linda Castle, of Orlando, sold Unit 309 in the North Building of the 60-unit Castillian, 4545 Gulf of Mexico Drive, to Michael and Kathryn Launder, of Verona, Wis., for $490,000. Built in 1979, the 1,340-square-foot unit has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It last sold for $475,000 in October 2002.

Portobello
Maureen Long, of Chesterfield, Mo., sold Unit A303 in the Gulfside phase of the 74-unit Portobello, 3235 Gulf of Mexico Drive, to James Connell Jr., of Plant City, for $465,000. Built in 1975, the 1,260-square-foot unit has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It sold for $155,000 in March 1992.

Longbeach Village
Thomas and Janet Tuscher, of Glen Ellyn, Ill., sold their home at 7105 Gulf of Mexico Drive in the Longbeach Village to Cathleen and James Dunlop Jr., of Orchard Park, N.Y., for $356,000. Built in 1974, the 1,170-square-foot home has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It last sold for $395,000 in February 2001.

Spanish Main Yacht Club
Bradley Cook, Sandra Hale Curtis and Johnsie Adams Macdougall, trustees of the Audrey Ziesemer Trust 1999, of Reston, Va., sold Unit 100 at 722 S. Spanish Drive in the 212-unit Spanish Main Yacht Club to CAMA SDIRA LLC, a Pennsylvania limited-liability company, as custodian of the Janet Louise Webb Mac Farland IRA, of Blue Bell, Pa., for $153,000. Built in 1970, the 1,393-square-foot unit has two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
