Braden River sophomore forward Lindsey Seifert netted her second hat trick of the season, leading the Lady Pirates to a 6-0 victory over Palmetto in a Class 4A-District 10 quarterfinal match Jan. 20. Seifert led the team in goals this season with 12. Here is an inside look at this week’s Athlete of the Week.

How does it feel to have gotten another hat trick?
It feels pretty good. It gives me (more) confidence in myself and (even) more desire to win districts.

What do you enjoy the most about soccer?
It’s really competitive. I like the aggression of it — it never stops. I also love the feeling of scoring a goal.

What’s your fondest soccer moment?
Last fall, I was playing for my Kingdom Premier team in Michigan and it came down to penalty kicks. It was the biggest tournament of the whole year, and I was the last person to kick. I scored and we ended up winning the tournament. It was a great feeling because there were so many people watching.

How did you get into soccer?
I’ve been playing since I was able to walk. I started playing friendly games with the American Youth Soccer Organization.

Do you have any siblings?
I have three brothers: Ryan, a senior, Riley, a seventh-grader, and Tyler, a fifth-grader.

What do you want to be when you grow up?
Maybe a neonatologist, a speech therapist or a math professor in college

What’s your favorite subject?
Math. I’m really good with numbers.

What was your favorite cartoon when you were little?
“Blues Clues.”

If you could go anywhere in the world where would it be and why?
Italy. I’ve never been out of the United States.

What’s your favorite food.
Mashed potatoes

Do you have a favorite movie?
“Bend It Like Beckham.” I like it because it’s about a girl playing soccer.
