The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
GREENFIELD PLANTATION
June 19
11:08 p.m. — The intersection of Greenfield Boulevard and State Road 64 E. Driving without a driver’s license. A sheriff’s office deputy stopped a white SUV. Upon investigation the deputy discovered the driver never had a driver’s license. The passenger was arrested for possession of cannabis less than 20 grams.
HERITAGE HARBOUR
June 17
5:30 p.m. — 7000 block of Montauk Point Crossing. Burglary to an unoccupied conveyance. Unknown suspect(s) entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and stole items.
LIONSHEAD
June 19
1:15 p.m. — 5700 block of 39th Street Circle. Open door. The sheriff’s office received a call in reference to carport door motion. Upon arrival, the deputy checked the exterior and a rear eastside sliding door was found closed but unlocked. The interior was checked and cleared.
ROSEDALE
Reported June 18
3:05 p.m. — 5100 block of 87th Court E. Telephone harassment. The victim reported she has been receiving phone calls from the suspect, who lives across the street from her, for the past two years. The victim is getting worried her neighbor is going to start physical problems with her, so she wants it to stop. The neighbors around the victim also are getting calls from the suspect.
SARASOTA
June 18
6:35 p.m. — 5205 University Parkway (Kohl’s). Grand theft. The defendant was observed attempting to walk past all points of purchase at Kohl’s while in possession of $488.80 of merchandise. She was detained, and the property was recovered from her purse. Post-Miranda, she said she needed money to pay bills.
OTHER
June 19
12:01 a.m. — 2200 block of 51st Boulevard E. Grand theft. Unknown person(s) stole the boat and trailer from the front yard of the residence. The person(s) then fled with the property in an unknown direction.
4:34 a.m. — 3304 53rd Ave. E. (Circle K Convenience Store). Theft. The complainant reported a black male stole a 12-pack of Natural Light beer from the store. The complainant stated the suspect entered the store and asked to use the bathroom. The suspect went in the direction of the bathroom but didn’t use it. The complainant stated the suspect went to the cooler, took the 12-pack of beer and exited the store. The complainant didn’t see which direction the suspect went when he left the store.
7 a.m. — 16600 block of Waterline Road. Found firearm. The complainant was driving east on Waterline Road when she noticed a fanny pack in the middle of the road in front of the residence. She stopped and opened the fanny pack to look for identification and found a handgun. The complainant then called the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office. The responding deputy found the handgun. In the past 16 days, this is the third call of a found firearm on or near Rye Road. The handgun was placed into property and evidence. The gun hasn’t been reported lost or stolen at this time.
