9:42 p.m. — 4000 block of Gulf of Mexico Drive (GMD). Security Check. Police secured the office door to the Bayfront Park Recreation Center.

Overworked
7:46 a.m. — 500 block of Rountree Lane. Code Enforcement. A contractor performing renovations on a home was told he could only work between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Private parking
8:58 p.m. — 200 block of North Shore Road. Trespassing. A man was told he couldn’t park his car on private condominium property. He promised to find a legal place to park next time he went to the beach.
Illegal park activity
11:34 p.m. — 100 block of GMD. Code Enforcement. Four underage boys were told to pour out their alcohol. They agreed to leave Overlook Park, which closes at sunset.
Illegal boat docking
2:09 p.m. — 1000 block of Longboat Club Road. Trespassing. A man was told not to beach his sailboat on private property behind a condominium.

Noisy college students
10:35 p.m. — 4600 block of GMD. Juvenile Acts. Police told several college students to quiet down.
June 12
Explosive event
2:11 p.m. — 700 block of Broadway. Boat. A man told police that he and his companion left a restaurant after lunch, and when they started up their Jet Ski, it exploded and knocked them into the water. No one suffered any injuries.
Caught red-handed
5:41 p.m. — 100 block of GMD. Beverage Violation. A man walked out of the Gulf of Mexico and into Overlook Park with a beer in his hand. The underage beer drinker was issued a notice to appear in court for his violation.
Laying claim
6:54 a.m. — North Shore Road Beach Access. Boat. The dredge company bringing sand to the north end of the island removed a grounded boat from the shore and attached it to the dredge for the owner to retrieve. The owner never came to get it, and police are trying to track down the owner.
Missing items
1:08 p.m. — Overlook Park. Vehicle Larceny. A man told police he left a blue bag containing his cell phone on the beach while he went kayaking. The bag was missing upon his return.
Burning the midnight oil
10:30 p.m. — 100 block of Broadway. Code Enforcement. After hours, police found a man locked out of his car at the Broadway beach access. The group was advised they were on the beach after hours and also warned not to drink on the beach.
June 13
When ya gotta go ...
1:03 a.m. — 4700 block of GMD. Suspicious Person. Police witnessed a drunken woman urinating in the parking lot of a hotel. She told police she had lost her room key. The front desk provided her with a new key so she could be more discrete in the comfort of her hotel room.
Cleaning house
7:23 p.m. — 3600 block of Fair Oaks Place. Public Service. A woman advised police she found a purse on her pool deck. The housekeeper had mistakenly left her purse there.
June 15
Pipe problems
12:35 a.m. — 3100 block of Harbourside Drive. Fire. A leak in a fire alarm system pipe burst, causing water to shoot up the side of a condominium building. Longboat Key Fire Rescue isolated the leak until proper repairs could be made.
Gas line ruptured
9:41 a.m. — 6300 block of GMD. Gas Leak. A landscaping contractor hit an underground gas line and broke it. The Longboat Key Fire Rescue Department capped the line until the gas company could repair it.
Bar hopping?
11:26 a.m. — 500 block of Bay Isles Parkway. Suspicious Person. Police saw two men drinking beer on the curb near a pharmacy. They agreed to pour out their beers and left on a bus heading north.
Down in the dumps
1:23 p.m. — 600 block of Buttonwood Drive. Dumping. A man told police he saw the driver of a white pickup truck with a glass company logo pull up to a neighbor’s home and throw trash into a dumpster. Police contracted the glass company and said that it was illegally dumping materials in the dumpster. S supervisor promised it wouldn’t happen again.

2:54 a.m. — 1500 block of GMD. Suspicious Circumstance. A man told police a woman from an escort service stole $150 from him when he was undressed and intoxicated. The escort said she was paid the money to dance for the man. The man contacted police after sobering up and told them he no longer wanted to make the matter a public affair.
