Lakewood Ranch tops Pennsylvania's Owen J. Roberts High

The Lakewood Ranch High softball team defeated Pennsylvania’s Owen J. Roberts High 9-2 March 12.

Brittany Kilduff earned the win for the Lady Mustangs, allowing one walk while striking out six in three innings of work. Sasha Wirth pitched the first four innings for Lakewood, allowing two runs on three hits while walking one and striking out three.

Dana Hutchins went 4-for-4 with a triple, a stolen base, four RBIs, and two runs scored to lead the way for Lakewood at the plate. Jennifer Trotter went 2-for-4 with three runs scored; and McKaleigh Goodale went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles, a RBI and a run scored. Katie Hopkins went 2-for-3 with a walk, two RBIs and a run scored.

With the win, Lakewood improves its record to 6-2 on the season. The Lady Mustangs return to district action at 7 p.m., March 15 at Bayshore.
