Here is an inside look at this week’s Athlete of the Week.

How long have you been playing tennis?
I’ve been playing competitively since I was 11 years old. My parents signed me up for lessons, and I (really) got into it. I wanted to do some tournaments for the competition.

What’s your fondest tennis moment?
I had a three-match set once in the summer. It was July in Florida and it was really hot. It was a three-hour match, and I ended up winning.

What do you enjoy the most about tennis?
I like the competition and the sense of accomplishment you have after you win. I like the way I feel after I win.

Do you have a favorite tennis player?
I like (Venus and Serena) Williams. I like their background story and how when they started playing they weren’t from a rich family. But they stuck with it, and now they’re considered (two) of the best players.

Do you have any siblings?
I have a younger brother, Dakota, who is 13 years old.

Do you know what you want to be when you grow up?
I want to be a surgeon.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
London. I would like to see Big Ben and the London Bridge.

Who is your biggest role model?
My parents. They always push me to do my best and support me in whatever I want to do.

Do you have a favorite type of music?
I like alternative rock, especially Mumford & Sons.

Do you have a favorite subject?
History. I like learning about where our roots are and what we developed from in the past.
