The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
SARASOTA
May 2
11:55 a.m. — 2805 University Parkway (Starbucks). Grand theft. The victim reported his wallet had been stolen while he was at Starbucks. He stated he got up to talk to a Navy recruiter for five minutes, When he returned, he noticed his wallet was missing out of his zipped backpack. There were no security cameras that caught the incident.
May 5
3 a.m. — 8320 Lockwood Ridge Road (Walmart). Petit theft (Information). The complainant alleged she left her phone in the break room to charge while she went to lunch. When she returned, the phone was gone. There were no witnesses to the theft. The victim wasn’t really sure if she misplaced it or if it was actually stolen.
May 6
10:37 p.m. — 3005 University Parkway (Malonga). Grand theft of a motorcycle. The responding deputy arrived at the scene in reference to a stolen motorcycle. Upon arrival, he met with the victim, who informed him that his motorcycle had been stolen while he was at work. The motorcycle was in video surveillance range from where it was taken. From the video, it was determined an unknown person got onto the motorcycle and rode out of the parking lot in a westward direction. Characteristics of the person riding the motorcycle were unable to be determined due to lighting.
OTHER
May 3
11:59 a.m. — 7200 block of 38th Court E. Burglary to an unoccupied dwelling. The responding deputy spoke with the victim and her family in reference to a burglary call. The victim had a large sum of money stolen from her bedroom closet. All members of the family believed a friend of the family took the money because he has a long criminal record and he admitted he was in the house. There were no signs of forced entry to the house and no known suspects other than the friend of the family.
May 5
7:29 p.m. — 8604 S.R. 70 E. (Hess). Trespass warning. While in the presence of the responding deputy, the complainant issued the suspect a trespass warning, instructing her not to return to the premises. Identification information and an inked impression of her right index finger were obtained and recorded. The complainant was issued a victim’s rights pamphlet with a case number and the name of the suspect.

11:56 p.m. — 3300 block of 53rd Avenue E. Possession of a controlled substance. The responding deputy arrived at the scene in reference to a warrant. The suspect was located and arrested for two active warrants. Upon searching her, a controlled substance and marijuana were located in her belongings. A presumptive test was positive.
May 6
3:10 p.m. — 2911 53rd Ave. E. (Walmart). Petit theft. The complainant stated she saw the suspect with a spray gun box, which he was ripping open. She said the suspect removed the spray gun from the box and concealed it down the front of his jeans. She stated he concealed the sprayer can from the box in his right front pocket and a roll of tape in his back pocket. The suspect then exited past all points of sale.
