+ L’Ambiance ladies create special ambience for events
Dear Editor:
I would like to personally thank my stepdad, John, for inviting me along with my mom to a wonderful L’Ambiance Mother’s Day dinner at Cafe L’Europe. The dinner, to the rose and the little gift, which was planned and organized by two wonderful and special ladies, Sylvia and Rosalyn — what a delight it was for all of us. I know everyone who attended joins with me to give a wonderful “thank you” to these two special ladies who continually keep the community of L’Ambiance together through their ongoing and unselfish work, from the social events to the special holiday dinners or luncheons.

Again to Sylvia and Rosalyn, thank you for a wonderful evening on Mother’s Day.

+ Gov. Scott is despised by more than the media
Dear Editor:
Gov. Rick Scott may well be despised by “the media,” (May 12 editorial) the eternal bogeyman of the rigid right, but be assured he is also disliked, if not despised, by many of us who are more centrist Republicans and Democrats. He certainly is no originator of his now stale ideas, and his playbook hasn’t worked very well before. There is scant reliable data to support nearly all of his positions, rather it’s a recipe for the further erosion of this state’s already weak key institutions.

If I wanted to be led back into the 19th century, I would have turned around long ago.
