Wedged between her daughters, Helen Marble carefully scanned the Bingo cards before her, dotting numbers as they were called.
In all her 100 years of life, this was only the second time Marble had played the game.
And yet, she’s had great success at the Lakewood Ranch Bingo Club.
On May 11, she and her daughters Barbara Jones and Lakewood Ranch resident Marie Sucro won one of seven times. In March — Marble’s first Bingo game ever — she won three times out of seven, taking home the grand prize of a $25 Publix gift card, among other prizes.
Marble, who learned the piano by ear as a child and still plays the almost every day, said she’s enjoyed playing the game, although she’s still learning how.
“It keeps your mind active,” she said.
