Mustangs win 2A state title

The Lakewood Ranch High boys golf team shot a combined 621 to capture the Class 2A state championship Nov. 1-2 at Mission Inn Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills.

Holding on to a two-stroke lead, Lakewood shot 304 earlier today to secure the victory, finishing six shots ahead of Spruce Creek — last year’s state champion.

Ramsey Touchberry shot a combined 151 to lead the way for the Mustangs. Connor Baldwin shot 154 followed by Danny Walker (156), Hunter Sagar (160) and Kyle Benson (165).
