Pirates win season opener

The Braden River High boys soccer team opened its season with a 7-1 victory over Charlotte Nov. 8.

Fabio Vasconcellos finished with three goals and an assist to lead the way for Braden River. Ivo Lima scored two goals and three assists, and Tyler Marshall and Matthew McNab each scored a goal. Austin Myara finished with two assists and Danny Lane added an assist.

The Pirates followed up their victory with a 2-2 tie at Palmetto Nov. 9.

Marshall scored off an assist by Lane to give Braden River a 1-0 at halftime. Vasconcellos scored Braden River’s second goal off an assist by Lane.
