Meteors win Gulf Coast Championship

The Meteors 9U travel baseball team won the Gulf Coast Championship Tournament Nov. 19-20 at the Sarasota Cal Ripken Complex.

Eleven teams from across the state participated in the two-day tournament. The Meteors went undefeated during pool play Nov. 19, beating Team Majestic 15-4 and the Tampa Predators 14-3.

On Nov. 19, the Meteors defeated the Collier Tigers 10-1 and the Tampa Spartans 8-0. Connor Krug pitched a no-hitter in the championship game.

The Meteors will return to action Nov. 26-27 in the SUPER NIT Championships at Disney’s Wide World of Sports in Orlando.

Championship players include: Connor Krug, Jake Krug, Chase Yniguez, Nicholas Hadad, Caden Chamberlin, John Schroeder, Camden Martin, Dalton Roby, Stone Frishman and Sean Vitug.
