The Lakewood Ranch Community Fund and Northern Trust presented a Women’s Giving Circle High Tea Oct. 26, at The Lake Club in Lakewood Ranch.

The event brought together nearly 70 local leaders to celebrate the power of women united to raise funds for charitable causes that are meaningful to them. The event’s keynote speaker, Roxie Jerde, president and CEO of the Community Foundation of Sarasota County, discussed the power of women as philanthropists. Angela Massaro-Fain, a representative for the Sisterhood for Good Fund-Women’s Giving Circle and president of Grapevine Communications Advertising Agency, spoke on how to make a difference in the Lakewood Ranch climate of philanthropy.

“The Lakewood Ranch Community Fund’s Women’s Giving Circles are dynamic groups of women bonded by friendship and shared interests and supporting a variety of charitable causes,” Massaro-Fain said. “We invite all women to consider uniting with like-minded friends and colleagues to make a difference in our community.”

The Lakewood Ranch Community Fund was created as a charitable fund under the the Manatee Community Foundation. Its mission is to enhance the quality of life in and near Lakewood Ranch by promoting philanthropy, connecting the charitable interests of donors with the on-going needs of the community and granting funds.
