Oct. 3
Please restrain yourself
2:44 p.m. — 1600 block of Main Street. Harassment. A woman told police that her ex-boyfriend continued to make a loop on Main Street so he could stare at her while she was walking to her car after leaving the bank. A temporary restraining order on the ex-boyfriend had been lifted, and police advised her to continue documenting the incidents in an effort to obtain another restraining order.

Oct. 6
Covering her bases
8:35 p.m. — 10 block of Bayfront Drive. Disorderly Conduct. A woman called police to report she had gotten into an argument with several people earlier in the night in Bayfront Park. She wanted to document the incident but declined to file an official report.

Tip not included
10 p.m. — 1100 block of Ritz Carlton Drive. Vehicle Burglary. A man told police that someone opened his driver’s side door and stole $90 from his wallet, which was sitting on the floor of the driver’s side seat. A hotel employee is believed to be responsible for the theft.

Oct. 7
No room at the inn
12:15 a.m. — 1400 block of 10th Street. Trespassing. Two men and a woman were issued trespass warnings for sleeping outside the rear entrance of the Salvation Army.

Temporary hearing loss
6 p.m. — 3300 block of North Tamiami Trail. Shoplifting. A store employee told police a woman stole 15 DVDs from the store. The DVDs were sticking out of her purse as she left the store, and the thief didn’t respond to calls for her to stop as she fled on a bicycle.

Knight in shining armor
7 p.m. — 1000 block of Boulevard of the Arts. Suspicious Person. An unconscious woman was discovered sleeping in the front lobby of a hotel. The manager told police she was found in a fourth floor hallway. Paramedics advised she was only drunk. It was discovered she was staying in a room with her boyfriend, and he arrived to carry her back to their room.

Big bang theory
9:05 a.m. — 2000 block of Eighth Street. Civil Disturbance. A man told police that his former landlord banged on his kitchen door and demanded money he previously owed the landlord when he rented one of his rooms. Police confronted the landlord and told him to take up the issue in small claims court.

Oct. 9
Mother’s intuition
12:03 a.m. — 1400 block of Main Street. Disorderly Intoxication. Police tried several times, to no avail, to convince a drunken man to stay in his taxi cab and leave the scene of a fight he had had with another bar patron. The cab was blocking traffic, and police eventually arrested the man after he refused to leave the scene. The man’s mother arrived and kept screaming, “That’s my baby!” The mother was placed in the cab her son refused to take.

Make it a Blockbuster night
1:33 a.m. — 800 block of South Tamiami Trail. Noise Violation. A man complained of loud music coming from the apartment next door. The neighbor apologized and said he would turn down his surround sound.

Assistance requested
8:25 a.m. — 300 block of North Washington Boulevard. Officer Assistance. An 88-year-old man approached police and told them he couldn’t remember to where was driving and couldn’t remember where his house was. The man’s neighbor was contacted and arrived to pick him up.

Patrol promise
7:50 p.m. — 1900 block of Morrill Street. Patrol Request. A woman told police that homeless people climb her fence and sleep near her property. Police promised extra patrols in the area.

Bad behavior
8:53 p.m. — 1500 block of First Street. Trespassing. Police forced a man to leave a bus stop after witnessing him being extremely loud and yelling obscene comments at people in the bus station.

Oct. 10
Construction zone violation
2:25 a.m. — 900 block of Cocoanut Avenue. Trespassing. A man was arrested for sleeping in a marked construction site.

Cash-and-carry
8:30 a.m. — 600 block of North Washington Boulevard. Fraud. A man reported that someone stole the wallet from his unlocked car and stole his identification, a credit card and $1,600 in cash. His bank warned him that someone tried to use the card to pay for gas.

Case closed
11:01 p.m. — 1700 block of Laurel Street. Trespassing. Police asked a woman why she was sitting in Laurel Park after hours, and she explained that she sometimes sleeps there while hiding her suitcase under a bench. She told police she is only sleeping there because she is a district attorney on a special assignment. She was arrested on a warrant charge — no more investigation.
