Eleven-year-old running back Keyon Fordham scored four touchdowns, including a 60-yard kickoff return, and racked up 200 yards on the ground in the first half, leading the East Manatee Bulldogs’ Junior Pee Wee team to a 33-0 victory over the Fishhawk Wolfpack in its season opener Aug. 27. Of the three positions that you play, running back, quarterback and punter, which is your favorite?
Running back. You get the ball a lot of times.
How did you get into football?
I started playing at PAL when I was 6 years old.
What’s the toughest part about being a running back?
You have to know what kind of plays you’re running.
Do you have a favorite football player?
Adrian Peterson. He’s good, and he’s fast like me.
Do you play any other sports?
Baseball
Do you have any siblings?
I have two sisters, Tedra, 19, and Eunique, 16, and one brother, O’Jarreus, who is 18 years old.
If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
To see into the future, so I can see how many games we win.
Do you know what you want to be when you grow up?
A football or baseball player
What’s your favorite food?
McDonald’s French fries
Do you have a favorite movie?
“Texas Chainsaw Massacre.” It’s scary.
If you could go anywhere on vacation where would it be?
Hawaii. I like to swim.
What was your favorite TV show when you were little?
“Barney.” I used to tell everyone my name was BJ.
If you could play any other sport for a day, what would it be?
Soccer. You’re always running and kicking the ball.
