Aug. 26
Not-so-smooth sailing
1:27 p.m. — Off the Key. Assist Other Agency. Police escorted the Manatee County Sheriff marine unit, which was assisting a sailor who had fallen and hit his face. The injured sailor was examined by EMS and released.

Aug. 27
In the cards
8:04 a.m. — 800 block of Spanish Drive North.
Property Found. A man told police that he found a debit card on a bike ride. Police located the owner’s father, who said that he would contact his daughter.

Abandoned bicycle
9:57 a.m. — 3100 block of GMD. Property Found. After receiving an anonymous complaint, police retrieved a bicycle abandoned in the bushes.

Voluminous complaint
2:23 p.m. — 100 block of North Shore Road. Noise Disturbance. After receiving an anonymous complaint, police warned a group of men who were turning up their music to compete with other groups’ stereo systems.

Jewfish jam
4:06 p.m. — 800 block of Broadway. Parking. A restaurant owner reported that several vehicles have been parked in front of his restaurant while the occupants take a boat to a rental house on Jewfish Key. The owner reported that the vehicles are blocking the driveway and creating parking problems for restaurant patrons.

Aug. 28
Loaded problem
4:25 p.m. — 3900 block of GMD.
Highway Obstruction. Police observed a white Lexus parked on the side of the road and observed its owner trying to clear a large pile of debris from the roadway. The owner told police that two trash cans fell from his vehicle while he was driving home from a remodeling job. Police helped the man with cleanup and issued a written warning for an unsecured load.

Aug. 29
Gas gouging
8:59 a.m. — 5600 block of GMD. Larceny. A landscape-maintenance business owner told police that an unidentified person removed the fuel from two fuel containers that were left on a landscaping truck.
