Non-profit hosts re:play conference

An East County-based non-profit aimed at empowering youth and developing a community in Malawi, Africa is working to inform, inspire and engage local youth this weekend.

Taking Back Lives will host a multimedia-driven youth conference from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 10 at G. Wiz Science Museum, 1001 Blvd of the Arts, Sarasota.

The conference includes live speakers, videos, music and networking opportunities on topics such as creativity, innovation and technology.

The conference is a partnership between G. Wiz, Community Youth Development, ManaTEENS, Taking back lives and other organizations.
