+ Polo Grill adds event sales director
The Polo Grill and Bar/Fête Catering and Ballroom on Lakewood Ranch Main Street last week announced Kelly Mason as its new catering and event sales director.
Mason is responsible for sales and coordination and working directly with clients on their events. While creating special catering menus tailored around their specific wants, Mason also manages client relationships while upholding employee and vendor relations.
Most recently, Mason was employed at the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee as the convention and meeting manager. For more information, call Mason at 782-0899, Ext. 232.
+ Carr named Ranch’s Rotarian of the Year
Willis A. Smith Construction Inc. Project Manager Nathan Carr was named Rotarian of the Year by the Rotary Club of Lakewood Ranch.
This year, Carr spearheaded the club’s playground project at Manatee Glens, delivered food barrels to the Food Bank of Manatee and volunteered his truck to pull the Rotary float in the Memorial Day parade.
“I am extremely proud to be a part of the Rotary Club of Lakewood Ranch and humbled that my efforts have made a difference,” Carr said. “I enjoy the fellowship it provides and the ability to serve the community in positive ways.”
+ Homae-Tech expands, adds 13 employees
Home-Tech, an air conditioning and major appliance sales and service provider, has begun construction on a $1.3 million, 10,400-square-foot service office, technical training center and showroom on Lena Road in the East County.
The new facility is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2012. Home-Tech has hired six new employees from the local market and plans to hire seven additional staff members locally.
Home-Tech established an initial presence in Sarasota in 1992.
“We knew we needed a larger commitment and a strong physical presence in the area to bring the full Home-Tech experience to Sarasota-Bradenton,” said Steve Marino, president and founder.
