The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
HERITAGE HARBOUR
Sept. 16
7:15 a.m. — 8300 block of Haven Harbour Way. Burglary to an unoccupied dwelling. The complainant reported she came home and found a candlestick out of place, sitting on top of the living room hutch. She opened the drawer to put it away and noticed her silverware missing. She also found two jewelry boxes were stolen from her master bedroom closet. Pry marks were found on the rear sliding-glass door. Two sets of fingerprints were obtained from inside the residence.
RIVERDALE
Reported Sept. 16
12:52 p.m. — 4500 block of 3rd Avenue Drive E. Criminal mischief ($1,000 or more). Unknown suspect(s) damaged the victim’s boat with a sander.
SARASOTA
Reported Sept. 16
4:55 p.m. — 7200 block of 42nd Court East. Fraudulent use of a credit card. The complainant reported unauthorized charges were made on his company and personal credit cards. He stated he believes his estranged wife made the purchases.
Sept. 17
3:55 a.m. — 3800 block of Oak Grove Drive. Burglary to an occupied residence. An unknown suspect entered the residence by unknown means. There were no signs of forced entry, and the dogs outside didn’t bark at the suspect. The suspect removed several items and fled to an unknown location. The residence was processed for fingerprints. The male victim didn’t get a good look at the suspect because he’s partially blind.
OTHER
Sept. 16
1:30 p.m. — 8500 block of 53rd Avenue East. Alleged battery. The complainant had six teeth extracted. When he awoke from anesthesia, he started walking to the waiting room and bracing himself with the wall. The complainant stated the dentist grabbed him under his armpit area and tried to put him in the chair. He then stated he told the dentist not to touch him after the dentist suggested he sit. The dentist called to check on him around 10:30 p.m., and the complainant complained about the hands on him. The dentist said he could do that in his office. The complainant insists he denied help and he had no right. The responding deputy observed no intent or injury on the surface. The complainant stated there were two nurses present, and he wants to press charges.
Sept. 17
1:45 p.m. — 2911 53rd Ave. E. (Walmart). Retail theft. The defendant was observed in the infant department, where she selected several items along with a diaper bag from the sales fixtures. She then went to the shoe department, where she selected more items and then concealed them in the diaper bag. The defendant then proceeded to the front of the store and to the checkout registers. She purchased some of the items but failed to pay for the concealed items or the diaper bag. Once the sale was complete, she exited the store with the unpaid merchandise. She was then stopped by store security and escorted back into the store without incident. The total amount of the stolen merchandise, which was recovered and returned to the store, was $124.07.
