Sept. 14
Under lockdown
12:08 a.m. — 5300 block of GMD. Security Check. Police found the front door of a salon unlocked. Dispatch contacted the business’ owner, who secured the door.

Root of the problem
8:33 a.m. — 3200 block of GMD. Larceny from Private Property. A condominium maintenance supervisor reported that two seagrass-type plants were yanked from the ground of the property entrance. The supervisor said that two additional plants had been stolen over the past few weeks and requested closer patrol of the complex.

Unlicensed to drive
11:36 a.m. — 6900 block of GMD. Traffic Violation. Police found that the driver’s license of the registered owner of a Mazda sedan was suspended in June. Police seized the vehicle’s tags and had the car towed. The owner of the vehicle, who denied any problem with his driver’s license and stated that he had moved recently, had a friend give him a ride.

Lost at sea
2:33 p.m. — 100 block of N. Shore Road. Lost or Missing Property. A man told police that his cell phone was either lost or stolen during the weekend while he was boating near Greer Island. The man said that he left the phone on board while he and his friends were on shore.

Gas leak
2:34 p.m. — 5500 block of GMD. Fire/Gas Leak. Police and firefighters shut down Gulf of Mexico Drive for a short period while firefighters repaired a gas leak. A fencing company employee told police that he hit the gas line while replacing a fence on the property.

Sept. 15
Noise complaint
7:36 a.m. — 3100 block of GMD. Noise Disturbance. After receiving a complaint, police warned the owner of a landscaping company about the town’s noise ordinance.

Constructive criticism
5:59 p.m. — 2500 block of GMD. Code Enforcement. After receiving a complaint about construction work performed after hours, police warned a worker about town ordinances.
