The Braden River High football team saw its lead slip away as Riverview scored 34 unanswered points on its way to a 36-7 victory Sept. 23.

The Rams took an early 2-0 on a botched snap by kicker Michael Unzicher.

Braden River responded in the second quarter when quarterback Eric Schappacher connected with Justin Ross, giving the Pirates a 7-2 advantage.

Although the lead proved to be short lived as Braden River was held scoreless in the second half.

The Pirates return to non-district action at 7 p.m. Sept. 30 at Port Charlotte in a game in which both teams will be searching for their first win of the season.
