The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office has arrested Sarasota resident Jason Flores, 20, in connection with a string of vehicle burglaries that occurred Monday morning.

Deputies responded to a reported burglary in progress at a home on Middlesex Place after the resident saw someone on their back patio about 1:30 a.m. The subject fled, but deputies found Flores hiding in a vehicle on nearby Hina Drive. Deputies determined that Flores burglarized four unlocked vehicles within 200 feet of each other. Deputies recovered numerous electronic devices and other items that had been taken from the vehicles and contacted the vehicle owners to confirm the property was theirs.

Flores, who has a history of burglary arrests, is charged with four counts of burglary. He is currently being held in the Sarasota County Jail on $22,000 bond.

The Sheriff’s Office reminds residents to lock their vehicles at all times and remove items of value from plain sight.
