Man arrested in connection with robbery on beach

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a robbery on Siesta Key Beach at 1 a.m. this morning. The victim reported that he was walking on the beach when he was confronted by the suspect, who threatened him with bodily harm and stole his iPod before fleeing to the south.

Deputies located the man in the 6600 Block of Midnight Pass Rd, where the victim positively identified the suspect. Deputies arrested him without incident.
