Story doesn’t add up
4:39 a.m. — 4900 block of North Tamiami Trail. Suspicious Circumstance. A drunken woman told police her boyfriend struck her in the face and on her legs during a heated argument in a hotel room. The woman had no injuries and couldn’t locate the boyfriend.

April 8
He said, she said
1:42 p.m. — 1600 block of Main Street. Vehicle Crash. A woman reported that the man parked next to her must have crashed into her car. The man said the woman must have caused the damage. No one was issued a citation because of the conflicting stories.

Missing belongings
2 p.m. — 1800 block of Morrill Street. Suspicious Circumstance. A woman called police to report she was missing $400 in cash and that 88 Percocets were missing from her bedroom. She believes her roommate’s son stole her belongings.

Out of control
2:43 p.m. — 5500 block of North Tamiami Trail. Suspicious Vehicle. A woman told police she saw a white pickup swerving southbound on U.S. 41.

Shirt off his back
9:51 p.m. — 2500 block of South Tamiami Trail. Suspicious Circumstance. A man told police someone stole his shirt while he was at a fast food restaurant.

Scootin’ on by
11 a.m. — 1300 block of Boulevard of the Arts. Civil Problem. A man told police a contract he entered into with a man never came to fruition because he hadn’t received a scooter he ordered, even though he had a receipt for a $500 deposit. The second man told police he had produced the scooter, but the customer changed his mind.

More patrol
3:37 p.m. — 2800 block of South Tamiami Trail. Speeding. A man requested extra traffic enforcement after he observed several cars speeding through a school zone.

Time to say goodnight
11:42 p.m. — 1600 block of Eighth Street. Noise Violation. A woman complained the children in the apartment above her were making too much noise. From the parking lot, police observed the children screaming. The woman told police her children were going to bed.

Cashing out
12:36 p.m. — 1400 block of Main Street. Theft. A restaurant manager told police there was a dispute with a former employee over the collection of her pay. The woman, who was a bartender, was caught by the owner passing out free drinks after her shift and was fired. The woman denied the claims and said she was owed $40 in tips the owner took from her. The owner refused to give her the money, and police said there was not enough evidence to charge her with theft.
