July 24
Twilight re-enactment
2:23 p.m. — 600 block of 67th Street Circle East. Battery. A motel employee said that someone approached her from behind, threw her on a bed and began to bite and suck on her neck while she was cleaning a room. No charges were filed due to a lack of information about the suspect.
July 25
Bone collector
9:20 a.m. — 5200 block of Wauchula Road. Suspicious Incident. A man called police after his dog went outside and returned with an unfamiliar bone. Police confirmed that it didn’t belong to a human and suspect that it was a deer leg bone.
Getting a message across
11:13 a.m. — 4700 block of Sabal Key Drive. Information Only. A woman reported that another woman, who is dating her ex-husband, keeps calling and sending text messages. She wanted to document the voice and text messages.
Blame Canada
4:52 p.m. — 12000 block of Tall Pines Way. Domestic Disturbance. A woman became angry and began throwing things around the house after she and her daughter argued about a trip they are planning to Canada.
July 28
Knuckle head
1:36 a.m. — 7100 block of S.R. East. Shoot/Throw Missile into a Vehicle. During an argument, a man threw a set of brass knuckles through the back window of a man’s truck, striking him in the back of the head. The man was not injured.
July 30
Sibling rivalry
5:06 p.m. — 5700 block of 31st Court East. Battery. An intoxicated man got into an argument with his sister, who punched him in the face with a closed hand and knocked him to the ground.
Aug. 1
Caught on camera
9:56 a.m. — 13000 block of Adventure Place. Criminal Mischief/Property Damage. A woman told police that she has video of recent incidents at a park, in which unknown individuals broke and spray-painted benches and also damaged video cameras nearby. The women said that she would turn in the video when possible.
Earmuffs
11:02 p.m. — 8400 block of Lockwood Ridge Road. Information Only. A man went inside a McDonald’s to pick up his daughter and left his dog inside his vehicle. A woman started cursing at him and screaming that the temperature was at least 100 degrees in his car. He said that the air-conditioning was on inside the car and asked her “Are you going to swear in front of all these kids?” The woman not only continued to swear but also flipped him off before driving away.
Stolen sling blade
3:05 p.m. — 5200 block of 42nd Street Court E. Found Property. A man turned in a skull-head knife that he found blade down in the ground while doing work in his yard. The man said that his son, who used to live in the home, was involved in burglaries. He believed that the knife could have been stolen.
