Home & Garden: Butterfly Retreat

In season, this beautiful retreat out at the Sarasota Polo Club has stables full of horses and plenty of people milling about. During the summer months, the horses head north to train in cooler weather but the beauty of the land remains. Gardening South Inc. not only installed the landscape, but has maintained the backyard for the last decade. Home owner Christine Wasley describes it as a butterfly and kitchen garden that features tomatoes, peppers and herbs in the cooler months. Right now, the garden is attracting plenty of butterflies and hummingbirds and producing plenty of limes and grapefruits that will be ready to harvest within the next few weeks.
