Name game
1:45 a.m. — 1400 block of Main Street. Fight. Police responded to a report of a fight outside of a bar. The fight was broken up, but police found a man sitting at a traffic light in his car who admitted to being involved in the fight. The man refused to name names and said both groups had dispersed.

Repeat troublemaker
11:15 p.m. — 2500 block of South Tamiami Trail. Disorderly Intoxication. A drunken man kept harassing a woman at a bar. The man left the bar after police and the bar’s owner made repeated requests that he leave. He returned later to start trouble again and was arrested because he already received a trespass warning.
Aug. 6
Pool bath
2:25 a.m. — 2500 block of South Tamiami Trail. Trespassing. A hotel manager requested police remove a homeless man from the pool. He was trespassed from the property.
iPhone locked
10:30 a.m. — 1400 block of Main Street. Lost Property. A woman lost her iPhone on Main Street. The phone was locked and therefore she couldn’t use a tracking application to locate it. She locked the phone from the same application.
Self-pay
1:10 p.m. — 1900 block of South Tamiami Trail. Forgery. A man told police that a woman stole a check from his dresser drawer and made it out to herself for $175. A bank employee notified police the woman was trying to cash the check and she was arrested .
Necklace ninny
1:33 p.m. — 1200 block of South Tamiami Trail. Shoplifting. A store manager caught a woman trying to walk out of a store with a necklace. She was issued a trespass warning and a notice to appear in court.
Bundled up
2:30 p.m. — 500 block of North Beneva Road. Shoplifting. A woman entered a changing room with several clothing items and then walked out of the store wearing the clothes. Employees found only hangars and tags in the changing room. The woman, wearing multiple layers of clothes, was found in the parking lot and was issued a trespass warning and a court summons.
Vacant violator
2:50 p.m. — 1300 block of Boulevard of the Arts. Trespassing. An apartment manager told police two men were trespassing in a vacant apartment and he wanted them removed.
Dirty vengence
9:01 a.m. — 3100 block of Fruitville Road. Criminal Mischief. A woman told police one of her coworkers made a homeless person leave the area in front of their business the day before. The next day, employees arrived to find feces on the front door and in the mailbox. Police asked the woman to call police if the homeless person returns to the area.
Ghostly bump
12:35 p.m. — 1900 block of Bahia Vista Street. Suspicious Circumstance. A man told police he was sitting at a stoplight at the corner of Bahia Vista Street and U.S. 41 when a green Jeep rear-ended him and drove off. Police found no damage to the man’s car and there were no witnesses to support his story. No further action was taken.
Frequent trespasser
2:01 p.m. — 1400 block of Tenth Street. Trespassing. Police found a man laying on a bed of cardboard in a parking garage. Since he had already received a trespass warning for the garage, he was issued a notice to appear in court for trespassing.
Cellphone charge
7:30 p.m. — 3100 block of Fruitville Road. Trespassing. A real-estate office complained about a man loitering on their property. Prior to police arrival, the man fled. He left behind his cellphone, which he was charging in an outside electric socket. Police confiscated the phone.
Aug. 7
Bicyle Battery
8:52 a.m. — 400 block of Cocoanut Avenue. Battery. A man told police that someone from whom he borrowed a bicycle the day before began beating him when he approached him to make plans to return the bike. Police observed injuries to the man’s face, throat and neck. Police found the man and arrested him on a battery charge.
