Lady Mustangs power past Lady Pirates

The Lakewood Ranch High volleyball team opened its season with a 23-25, 26-24, 25-23, 25-9 victory over rival Lakewood Ranch Aug. 28.

Senior Mariah Robertson led the way for Lakewood with 12 kills, three aces and five assists. Senior Emily Ruple finished with nine kills, one block, three aces and one assist. Junior Ashlyn Falahee recorded nine kills, one block, three aces and one assist and junior Ali Milbourn added two kills, two aces and 44 assists.

The Lady Mustangs return to action Aug. 30 versus Manatee while the Lady Pirates will host Palmetto.
