The Riverview High girls soccer team defeated North Port 2-1 Dec. 5.
Danielle Allen scored both goals for the Lady Rams. Katy Mixon and Kasey Gamble were each credited with an assist. Goalkeeper Stephanie Tabar had seven saves.
+ Cougars basketball coasts to victory
Antonio Blakeney scored 28 points and hauled in eight rebounds to lead the Cardinal Mooney High boys basketball team to a 85-58 victory over Bayshore Dec. 6.
Blair Perry scored 13 points and Ryan McMahon added nine points and six assists. Parker Demedico had nine assists and three steals and Justin Najmy recorded 15 assists.
+ SMA basketball falls to St. Pete Canterbury
The Sarasota Military Academy boys basketball team fell to St. Pete Canterbury 55-48 Dec. 6.
Josh Huff led SMA with 11 points. Alex Telfair finished with nine points and five assists and Gene Ashe scored eight points.
+ Lady Sailors cruise past Lady Tarpons
The Sarasota High girls basketball team cruised to a 49-20 victory over Charlotte Dec. 6.
Natalie Wilcox paced the Lady Sailors with 12 points and eight rebounds. Emily Harding and Brooke Blackwell each added 10 points.
+ Riverview routs Manatee HEAT
The Riverview High girls basketball team routed the Manatee HEAT 56-17 Dec. 6.
Gianna Vastola led the way for the Lady Rams with 14 points. Taylor Greenan scored 10 points and Brittany Horne added eight points.

Kelli Kennedy scored a pair of goals and Lauren Gable scored one goal to lead the way for the Lady Eagles.

Leonardo Cisneros, Brendan Dermody and Nick Dupras each scored one goal for the Eagles.

The Riverview High boys soccer team blanked rival Sarasota 2-0 in a non-district match Dec. 5.

The Sarasota Christian boys basketball team breezed to a 77-28 victory over ODA Dec. 4.
Sean Corrigan had 24 points and seven rebounds to lead the way for the Blazers. Quinton Siommers had 14 points and Josh Yoder added 10 points.

Rose Amato scored three goals to lead the Cardinal Mooney High girls soccer team to a 7-1 district victory.over Booker Dec. 4.
Anna Brusco, Meghan Donaghy, Mara Coffey and Sam Savinsky each added a goal for the Lady Cougars.
Asia Odom had the lone goal for the Lady Tornadoes.
+ SMA blanks Dunbar
The Sarasota Military Academy girls soccer team shut out Dunbar 8-0 Dec. 4.
Hannah King recorded a hat trick to pace the way for the Lady Eagles. Kaylee Drown and McKenna Jackson each scored two goals and Ellie Waskom added a goal.
+ Cougars post shutout
The Cardinal Mooney High boys soccer team blanked Booker 2-0 Dec. 4.
Greg Illig scored both goals for the Cougars. John Rodman was credited with one assist. Goalkeeper Chase Osterman had eight saves to preserve the shutout.
+ ODA boys fall to Shorecrest Prep
The Out-of-Door Academy boys soccer team fell to Shorecrest Prep 3-2 Dec. 4.
Tait Lystad and Hunter Clarke each scored one goal for the Thunder. Goalkeeper Bryan Kirshe had 12 saves.
+ ODA falls to St. Stephen’s
The Out-of-Door Academy boys and girls soccer teams both fell to rival St. Stephen’s in Class 1A-District 8 action Dec. 6.
The boys lost 9-1 while the girls were blanked 2-0. Hunter Clarke scored the lone goal for ODA. Hannah Howell scored both goals for the Lady Falcons.
