When it came to designing her home movie theater, which was completed in December, Sarasota resident Jennifer Fox contemplated incorporating ‘Finding Nemo’ and ‘Batman.’ But once she spotted a giraffe-print carpet, the room’s decor began to revolve around an animal theme.

BY THE NUMBERS

1. Serengeti pictures — “I wanted to have all animals and trees in the setting.”
2. Chairs — “They are camel-colored leather from Pamero Shop, which my father, Ray Osborn, owns. I said, ‘Dad, do you have any theater seating?’ And he did. They are the most comfortable chairs.”
3. Carpet — “It’s a Masland carpet with a giraffe print.”
4. Sconces — “I felt they had a West Indies tribal feel.”
5. Columns — “A company called IBF did all of the built-in work. They wrapped the columns in Brazilian laminate.”
6. Popcorn machine — “I have a larger one on order — it’s a big red wheel with a popcorn maker on a stand. My kids, Sami, Zach and Hannah, are popcorn fanatics. It just seems to go with watching a movie.”
7. Ceiling mural — “We were going to do a fiber-optic ceiling with twinkle lights, but it was extremely expensive. We had Joe Barron paint a glow-in-the-dark mural with constellations, the Milky Way, the Big Dipper and the Little Dipper.”
8. Animal prints — “These are acoustical panels. They are actual photographs that are screen-printed to acoustical fabric.”
