Three WWII planes visit SRQ Airport

The Wings of Freedom Tour flew into Sarasota Feb. 13 to Feb. 15, at the Rectrix Aerodrome at the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport.

The three World War II planes that were on display included the “Nine O Nine” Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress; “Witchcraft” Consolidated B-24J Liberator; and “Betty Jane” North American P-51C Mustang.

Those who attended had the chance to walk through two of the planes and could pay to experience riding in the planes.
