Pirates season ends on buzzer-beater

The Braden River High basketball team saw its season come to a disappointing end with a 60-57 loss to Port St. Lucie in overtime of the Class 7A-Region 3 quarterfinals Feb. 16.

Frank Martin his a 3-pointer from beyond the NBA line at the buzzer to give Port St. Lucie the victory.

Tre Bryant scored 19 points, including a game tying 3-pointer with 10 seconds left in overtime, and Trevon Young scored 19 points and hauled in 11 rebounds to lead the way for the Pirates. Jeff Casseus added 14 points and six rebounds.

It was the final game in a Braden River uniform for Bryant, Casseus and fellow seniors Tommy Bernhardt, Eric Foster, Austen Lee and Brian Bain.
