Here is an inside look at this week’s Athlete of the Week.

Why do you think you’ve seen so much success so early on in the season?
I really focused during the off-season. I played football, but I was still able to practice. The more times I go out and work the more fun I (have).

How did you get into baseball?
I started playing when I was 5 years old. My dad was big into baseball. He played in high school, and he introduced my brother (Austin) and I to it.

What do you enjoy the most about baseball?
It’s so much fun for me. It’s such a challenge physically and mentally. You pretty much have to use your whole entire body to (execute). The challenge is what makes it fun.

Do you know what you want to be when you grow up?
I want to study criminal justice.

Do you have a favorite sports team?
The Atlanta Braves. They just have always been my favorite.

Who is your biggest role model?
My dad. He’s been right alongside me through this whole process. He played high school baseball, and he’s just supported me through this whole process of being a player.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
The ability to fly. I feel like it would be such a cool power to have. I could go anywhere I want.

If you could go anywhere on spring break, where would it be?
New Zealand. It just looks like a cool place to visit — the countryside and the mountains. I just think it would be really fun.

What was your favorite cartoon show growing up?
“SpongeBob.” It’s classic.

What’s your favorite food?
Steak
