Lady Pirates notch first-ever win over Lady Mustangs

The Braden River High girls basketball team defeated Lakewood Ranch 48-32 Jan. 19, marking the first time in school history the team had beaten its East County rivals.

Braden River overcame a sluggish start to take a 28-18 lead into the locker room at halftime and extended its lead late in the game.

Madison Jaco scored a team-high 18 points to lead the way for Braden River. Emily

Bulfin scored 18 points to lead the way for the Lady Mustangs.

The Lady Pirates return to action at 7 p.m. Jan. 20 at Charlotte while the Lady Mustangs will travel to Dixie Hollins. Tip off is set for 6 p.m.
