Mustangs advance to district semis

The second-seed Lakewood Ranch High boys soccer team defeated Charlotte 3-0 in a Class 4A-District 11 quarterfinal Jan. 23.

Tyler Norris had two goals and Bill Loumberti had a goal to lead the way for the Mustangs. Jake Severson, Joel Ferguson and Ian Nolan each added an assist. Defensively, Blake Thompson, Chris Schuetz, Jason Ferguson and David Gomez held Charlotte to four shots on goal.

With the win, Lakewood will host Manatee in a district semifinal at 7 p.m. Jan. 25.
