SCORES: Pirates blank Sailors, advance to district final

The top-seeded Braden River High boys soccer team blanked Sarasota 5-0 in a Class 4A-District 11 semifinal Jan. 25.

Fabio Vasconcellos scored three goals to lead the way for the Pirates. Austin Myara and Mitchell McCormick each added a goal. Danny Lane finished with three assists and Matt McNab and Ivo Limo each had one assist.

With the win, Braden River will host Manatee, which defeated Lakewood Ranch 1-0 in overtime of the other semifinal, at 7 p.m. Jan. 27 in the district championship game.
