June 27
Stolen items
6:56 p.m. — 1000 block of GMD.
Larceny. A man left his bag unattended on the beach for an hour and 40 minutes and returned to find that his sunglasses, digital camera and camera bag had been taken.

June 29
Welfare check
12 p.m. — 700 block of Lands End Drive.
Emergency Message/Welfare Check. A health professional asked police to check on a woman. Police couldn’t find her but others told police that they saw her that morning and that she was in good spirits.

Parking problem
8:16 p.m. — 4000 block of GMD. Traffic. A woman attempted to turn around the trailer attached to the pickup truck she was driving but got it stuck in the grass. The woman and her husband were able to maneuver the trailer and park it properly.

June 30
Blazing boat
5:37 p.m. — Off the Key.
Boat Fire. Police assisted Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officers with crowd control after a boat caught fire while testing its motors on a practice run before races.

July 1
Hot spot
3:42 p.m. — 100 block of GMD.
Traffic. Police noticed multiple carloads of people parking then wading out into a sandbar with coolers after nearby boat races ended. Police temporarily closed the park out of concern that the increasing number of vehicles would prevent emergency vehicles from accessing the area; they were also concerned with the park’s past problems involving large groups of people. Police stood by for approximately two-and-a-half hours.

Love hurts
5:15 p.m. — 100 block of GMD. Disturbance. Police saw a woman arguing with a man who had small scratches on his back. Police learned that the man had been in a fight after another man showed romantic interest in the woman. Both the man and woman had been drinking and got a ride home from a sober friend.

July 2
Wet noodle
11:56 a.m. — 4700 block of GMD.
Missing Person. A man went missing after he fell asleep on a foam noodle in the Gulf and drifted approximately three-fourths of a mile. The man’s wife reported him missing after she and her sons were unable to locate him but found his shirt and phone on a beach chair. A few minutes into a police search, the man waded to shore, having been dropped off by a boater who spotted him on the noodle.

Exchange of words
9:38 p.m. — 500 block of Broadway. Noise Disturbance. A woman said that she “exchanged words” about the rules with her neighbor and the neighbor’s family who the woman said were drinking and being loud in their community’s common area. The neighbor denied being loud and said there was an ongoing issue with the woman.

Pit crew
5:47 p.m. — 6300 block of GMD. Dog on the Beach. Police issued a written warning to a man who had a black pit bull on the beach with his family.
